Yashraj Film's Tashan had Lots of style, lots of pre-release
hype and had everything expect substance. TASHAN is a
complete package of mind blowing madness… Every week we see
a lot of bad films but Tashan is not just a bad film it's a
horrifying film.
Right from the plot of the movie to the cinematic effects
and the acting everything will seem to be going Haywire. |

|
The movie revolves around four characters -
Jimmy (Saif Ali Khan) who is a call centre executive
and who learns to dodge bullets as easily as someone
learns to brush, in this story he is hired to teach
English to Bhayyaji.
Pooja (Kareena Kapoor) who works for Bhaiyyaji and
who breaks into a sizzling hot number in a bikini
just before submerging her father's ashes in water. |
|
 |
|
|
Determined to recover his money and also to punish both
Jimmy and Pooja, Bhaiyyaji recruits his most trusted
henchman to do the job an that is Bachchan Pandey (Akshay
Kumar) who is a small time gangster and completely incapable
of saying I love you to his lady love and finally Bhaiyyaji
(Anil Kapoor) who is a notorious UP based so called lingo
gangster hell-bent on learning English and kills people with
any sports equipment he can lay his hands on.
The sight of Kareena Kapoor in a two-piece bikini is about
the only thing that wakes you up from your sleep while
watching Tashan - the mega-disappointing, mind-numbing new
film at the cinemas this weekend. |

Bad films are bad films and we see some every week,
but Tashan is not just a bad film, it's a terrible
film. Terrible because it takes its audience for
granted, terrible also because the filmmakers expect
to get away without a plot or any common sense only
because they've got big movie stars onboard.
Cinematography is excellent. Locations are
beautiful. |

The biggest hitch is Songs. Those are not very long lasting
and some are bad. All songs sound same with rustic rural
flavors and urban mix to it. However that does not move the
story forward except the "Dil Dance Mare Re". If those are
removed or only small part of song is used, then it can be
helpful to the movie. Vishal-Shekhar disappoints this time.
It seems like a rip off from Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja,
especially in the climax. And, oh yes, you would have to be
really strong to bear the climax. It's the ultimate patience
test ever created by Bollywood cinema.
Dissecting the film could be an exasperating task. Firstly
it calls for some immediate subtitling 'in Hindi' itself
since every line of Anil Kapoor in his intentionally
annihilating English dialect is difficult to digest. Also
was the sound recording shabby or was it Anil Kapoor's
accent that went intermittently inaudible? |

|
In case you didn't know, Tashan means style.
I'm sorry to say, this film has none.
Finally, if you have got all the time to
test your patience go ahead watch it!! Here
is a movie which will easily rip your
brains. |
